Red Tide Closes Maine Mudflats (Lincoln County News)
Gov. John Baldacci has declared a state of emergency in response to an early season algae bloom that has closed Maine mud flats. The red tide, which is caused by a type of algae growth, has impacted the entire New England seacoast.
